[dropcap_1]M[/dropcap_1]y name is Markéta Pavlíková. I graduated in Mathematical Statistics from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague. I have continued my specialization in the Master of Science in Biostatistics program at Hasselt University in Diepenbeek, Belgium. For eleven years I worked at EuroMISE Centre at Institute of Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. There I was interested in and analyzed data from genetics and urogynecology studies. At present I am employed at Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University. I collaborate with the Institute of Inherited Metabolic Disorders of 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, with Motol University Hospital, 2nd Faculty of Medicine and I am a PhD student of 3rd Facylty of Medicine of Charles University. [dropcap_1]S[/dropcap_1]ince 2008 I take professional interest in Czech system of care for prengant, birthing and postpartal women and their prenatal and born children. I publish in print and internet media, I talked in Český rozhlas, in a panel discussion at International Week for Respecting Childbirth, at session about homebirth in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, in the Salon of the Republic debate in Hradec Králové. In 2012 I was a member of the Maternity Care Workgroup set by the Ministry of Health that had to resolve the situation of Czech midwives. In 2013 I spoke at public hearing of the Euroean Court of Human Rights in Strassbourg on behalf of the claimants.
